East Garfield Park




East Garfield Park is a community area located on the west side of Chicago, Illinois, USA. It is part of the Chicago West Side area. Located directly in the path of gentrification heading westward from the Loop, East Garfield Park has been named one of America's most "up and coming neighborhoods" in the March 6, 2007 issue of Business Week.[1] However, since the housing market has slowed nationwide, the gentrification of East Garfield Park is expected to take several years. The neighborhood is bordered by Carroll Street on the north, Arthington and Taylor Streets on the south, Hamlin and Independence Avenues to the west, and Rockwell Street to the east.
